Mark Flanagan boasts a remarkable career spanning over two decades in Financial Services. He specializes in advising investors, investment managers, funds, and service providers, with a focus on operations, governance, and operational due diligence across various asset classes. Mark is a Co-Founder and the Head of Irish AIFM at FNX Dublin Ltd.

History

Throughout his career, he has held pivotal positions such as COO, Advisor, and Non-Executive Director within the Alternative Investments sector. His previous roles include senior positions in Aon’s Investment team, where he focused on Operational Due Diligence, as well as a Directorship in the Risk, Structuring, and Operations team at AXA Investment Managers. He also served as the Deputy Head of Cayman National Fund Services in the Cayman Islands.

Having worked with over 500 investment managers and playing a role in launching over 100 funds with start-up, emerging, and institutional investment managers, Mark boasts a wealth of knowledge and a global perspective. His career has taken him to various corners of the world, including Ireland, the Cayman Islands, the United Kingdom, and South Africa.

Mark is not just a practitioner but also an active advocate for industry best practices and transparency. He participates in numerous industry initiatives, collaborating with managers, service providers, industry organizations, the media, and investors to implement operational excellence. He is also a sought-after speaker at conferences, where he shares insights on due diligence, hedge funds, real assets, and more, with the aim of educating investment managers and investors alike.

Mark Flanagan is recognized as a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA).
